My friend Gene and I went to Mazda's "Zoom Zoom Live" event over the weekend. I had heard of it being a promotional event where they set up autocross-type courses and let people test drive their cars. I expected it to me very toned down and controlled. After all, it's free and open to the public. However, as we walked towards the first tent I heard tires squeeling and saw a Miata slide around a corner. Before the day was over, I had pushed the limits of the RX-8, Mazda 3, Miata, and Mazdaspeed 6. The best part was seeing what my car is made of without paying for a new set of tires afterwards!

Well, I traded in my trusty pickup truck for something that will make my daily commute a bit more exciting - a turbocharged, 274 horsepower, all-wheel-drive Mazdaspeed 6. I'm still a Mustanger at heart, but the price on this car was too good to pass up.

Last weekend my mom and I went up to Bristol, TN for the Fun Ford Weekend. This is about the 5th or 6th time I've been, and it's always more fun than the previous year. The cars just keep getting cooler. Every year, I watch the True Street drag competition and tell myself I'll enter next year. This time I mean it! Maybe...

I haven't updated this site in a while, but there are some new photos from me & Aza's trip to New York in the picture gallery. Last weekend (7/22), I entered my first road race in a while. It was a 5k race, and my time was too embarrassing to list here. My coworkers Steve & Atsushi entered it too, but they finished long before me (Atsushi is pictured with me to the left). The next one is in September so we'll see if I can't run a more respectable time.
